Manager of Human Resources
The Manager of Human Resources (Human Resources Dept Mgr/Admin (E S 8)) oversees all aspects of Human Resources for approximately 195 Burke Museum/UW employees, including hourly employees. Reporting to the Burke Administrator, the Manager of Human Resources leads hiring, recruiting, and new employee onboarding efforts, and provides guidance, coaching, and support for all division managers and staff members. This position ensures that all employee relations, training, employment processes, volunteer management, recruiting, and safety programs follow established procedures and remain in compliance with Burke Museum and UW policies as well as local, state, and federal law. The role includes ongoing staff education related to HR policies. An HR leader who exhibits strong business acumen, coaching skills, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and planning/project management is key for this position.
STEM Program Lead
The STEM Program Lead (Preservation & Museum Specialist 1) is responsible for the successful implementation of a wide variety of STEM offerings including: Girls in Science experiences, STEAM Spotlight programming, Burke Camps, Fossil Finders early learner programming, backpack rentals, and Family Days. They will serve as a mentor for students belonging to groups historically underrepresented in STEM fields and will help connect students to Burke and University of Washington experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
