This small cooking basket for rice is called a "Katupak" (kah-tu-pack). The term Katupak is used to describe a weaved pouch, similar that of woven baskets and other basketry objects which Micronesians are well known for. Made from binga [young coconut sprouts], this pouch was specifically for cooking the rice in water or soup (which would flavor the contents inside.)
