"The birth announcement for Robert Davidson's son, Benjamin, was inspired by the image of a half moon on a clear night. It is a portrait of the four members of the family, Benjamin at the top, as a newborn with no teeth and immature eye without the eyelid. By overprinting blue on red in Benjamin's circle, the effect of the half moon is subtly achieved. The mother, Susan, is to the left, with a labret in her lower lip, Robert at the bottom, and Sara to the right, Benjamin's older sister, also with a labret."
