These wide shallow basketry bowls are woven with a quick
technique, called "in-between" because a row of plaiting is
put between each row of twining, which makes the weaving
much faster than fully twined baskets. This type of basket
was used to screen berries, or as all-purpose workbaskets to
hold prepared spruce roots while weaving.
