This pole was commissioned for the home of Warren and Ellie Guntheroth as a memorial to their Siberian Husky, Sasha. It was dedicated there in 1999 by the artist, David A. Boxley, his sons, and the Tsimshian Hayuuk dance group. It was rededicated here at University Tower on September 23, 2009 to Ellie Guntheroth, who died on December 19, 2007.

Pole figures, top to bottom:
The top figure is an Eagle, representing the artist and his Tsimshian clan in Metlakatla, Alaska.
The second figure is a Wolf, representing Boxley's son, David R. It holds a small Eagle, which represents David R.'s mother, Elizabeth (who was a patient of Warren Guntheroth's).
Below is a second Wolf-Dog that represent Elizabeth and David's other son, Zach, and also the Guntheroth's Siberian Husky, Sasha.
The bottom figure is a Bear representing Warren. His tongue is imparting knowledge to the small bear, a symbol of teaching.
