October is Washington Archaeology Month
and Blindness Awareness Month

For our second STEAM Spotlight program of the year we are excited to feature UW Dean’s Medal recipient Lucinda Axtelle. Head up to Floor 3 from 4–6:30 p.m. to learn about Lucy’s work with the Burke archaeology department and test out the accessibility tool kit created especially for visitors with low vision and blindness. These kits contain an audio tour as well as touchable artifacts and belongings to help blind and low vision visitors enjoy the content of the Our Material World Gallery.

Listen to the audio guide and learn more about the Archaeology Accessibility Tools on our website.
