Meet Devika Ajith in the Artist Studio! She will be working on personal projects 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Later, Devika will facilitate an interactive block-printing activity from 3–6 p.m. as part of our May STEAM Spotlight programming in celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Visitors are invited to stamp their own words or patterns onto fabric using linoleum blocks that she has hand-carved. This process reflects the artist's interest in repetition, imprint, and material engagement, while also creating a participatory experience.
About the Artist
Devika Ajith is an interdisciplinary artist exploring themes of memory, identity, and Indian South Indian Culture, using material and experimentation as ways to understand and cultivate a sense of belonging.
