Getting started with your digital Burke membership card

Here you'll find answers to common questions about downloading and using our digital membership cards.

Can't find the answer you're looking for? Feel free to email burkemem@uw.edu or call 206.616.6057.

Access the email you received on your iPhone and swipe down until you see the "Download" button. Tap the “Download Membership Card” button. This will take you to a new page. Swipe down on the new page and then click "Add to Apple Wallet." Your digital card will appear, then you can click "Add" on the upper right side of the screen. The card will automatically go to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet. It can be accessed in your Wallet app at any time.

iPhone users can now also use the Google Pay (Gpay) app as their digital wallet if they prefer it over Apple Wallet. To use the Google Pay app, first make sure Gpay is installed. Once installed, open the email directly from your phone and click the “Download Membership Card” button. Click on “add to Gpay.” A preview of the card will appear, then click “Save to Gpay.” In some cases, Gpay might ask you to log in so you can save it to an account. When you’re logged in, the card will be saved and you will be able to access it from the Gpay app at any time.

If you use an Android device, you can chose where to install your card (Google Wallet app or Wallet Passes app)

If you choose the Google Pay app, start by making sure Gpay is installed. You can download it here. Once the app is installed, open this email directly from your phone and tap the “Download Membership Card” button in the email you received. Click “Add to Gpay” and then “Save to Gpay” when the preview of the card appears. In some cases, Gpay might ask you to log in so you can save it to an account. When you’re logged in, the card will be saved and you will be able to access it from the Gpay app at any time.

If you prefer to use the Wallet Passes app, you can download it here. After you have installed the app, access the email you received on your smartphone and click the “Download Membership Card” button at the bottom of the email. This will take you to a new page. Swipe down until you see the button that says “Add to Wallet” and then tap on it. The card will automatically go to your Wallet Passes app, where it can be accessed at any time.

That’s OK! Your membership is recorded in our system and we can always look you up by name if you aren’t able to bring your card up on your phone. Our team can also help you find the card on your phone, if you'd like.

If your membership includes reciprocal benefits, the NARM and ROAM reciprocal logos will be automatically added to your digital card. This digital method is actually even easier to use when you visit other organizations because the expiration date will always be correct and your reciprocal stickers will never wear away!

We can check you in by name at the admissions desk. Or, you can email burkemem@uw.edu or call 206.616.6057 and receive updated expiration stickers for an existing physical card.

All of your benefits are conveniently listed on the back of your digital membership card. To look at the back of your card, tap the info icon on the pass, it looks like a lowercase “i” inside of a circle. Feel free to email burkemem@uw.edu or call 206.616.6057 if you would rather speak to a Burke membership representative about your benefits.

More information, including your member ID and your benefits, is listed on the back of your digital membership card. To access the back of your card, tap the info icon on your pass. The info icon looks like a lowercase “i” inside of a circle.

We can fix that! Please email burkemem@uw.edu or call 206.616.6057.

On an Android: Navigate to the back of the card (click the small info icon on the front of the card) and use the “Share Pass” button to send the card to your flexible guest.

On an iPhone: You will find the share icon at the top right of the digital card. The share icon looks like a square with and arrow pointing upwards.

If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card (scroll through any cards that are already there—it may be hiding!). If you have an Android, you’ll need to download Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to downloading the card.

The Burke Museum does not scan membership cards, so we do not have a barcode on our digital cards. No need to worry, your card is completely active! Just make sure your name, expiration date, and level are correct.
