Knowing Nature: Stories of the Boreal Forest / Historias del bosque boreal focuses on the biodiversity and global importance of Earth’s largest terrestrial ecosystem and the last intact forest on earth.

See, hear, and feel the forest through stunning photography, interactive displays, commissioned artworks, first-person stories, and Burke Museum collections. Learn about stories of resilience, strength, and hope in a changing world.

Presented in English and Spanish, the exhibition gives voice to the boreal through the words of Indigenous community members, scientists, conservationists, artists, and writers. It shares how knowing nature can offer a vision for a sustainable future.

The exhibition was made possible by the National Audubon Society, with additional support from The Anders Foundation, Charlie and Nancy Hogan, and Anne C. Madison.
