Jamie and Candace will be making Lei Lāʻī for Pacific Islander students in the graduating class of 2026!
This Lei Lāʻī demonstration uses the Kī plant (Hawaiian ti leaf; Cordyline fruticosa), which is an incredibly important and sacred plant with many uses in Hawaiian culture. It is used for canoe blessings, honoring people with lei, wrapping laulau, offerings, and spiritual protection for safe crossings and races.
