Student Paper Competition


        There will be two prizes, one for the best undergraduate and one for the best graduate student paper, based on the written paper as it will be presented at the Conference.  The paper need not feature new data but must be an original, substantive contribution, in any subdiscipline of anthropology.

·       The paper may not exceed 12 double-spaced pages in length.

·       The written version of the paper must be prepared in American Anthropologist / American Antiquity style.  Font size should be 12 point. 

·       Presentation by the author at the Conference will be required. 

·       Each student paper must have a faculty sponsor whose name is stated on the written version.

The paper as submitted for the competition must be essentially the same as the paper that will actually be presented; no unfinished, draft paper or thesis will be accepted.  Presentation at the Conference requires submitting an abstract and registration.   

Deadline: 

·       abstracts:  Friday, February 3, 2006 (received by this date)

·       completed papers:  Friday, March 3, 2006 (final submission received by this date)
