Social Events
Reception: A Welcoming Reception will be held on Thursday, March 30 from 5pm to 7pm at the Burke Museum, on the University of Washington campus. Light refreshments will be served. Many thanks to our hosts:

Banquet and Keynote Address: A Banquet will be held at the University Tower Hotel on the evening of Friday, March 31, 2006. The registration fee for this event is $40 and must be paid in advance. There are two options for the dinner, chicken or vegetarian, so please remember to include your meal preference on the submission form. The keynote speaker will be Adrian Praetzellis, the author of Death by Theory: A Tale of Mystery and Archaeological Theory and Dug to Death: A Tale of Archaeological Method and Mayhem. Dr. Praetzellis currently heads the Anthropological Studies Center (ASC) at Sonoma State University. His speech, entitled: "The REALLY Big Dig: Urban Archaeology in Oakland, CA" will provide insights into a variety of intriguing topics from witchcraft to the archaeology of the Black Panthers.

Symposia, Contributed paper sessions, and Poster Presentations
These activities will run from the morning of Thursday, March 30 through Saturday, April 1. Please see the Call for Submissions page for details concerning paper length and poster size specifications.
Workshops and Meetings
CPR Workshop: A CPR Workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 29 from 1-4 pm. The registration fee for this event is $10. Instruction will be provided by MEDIC II (http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/fire/medics/medicTwo.htm). Space is limited, and will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.
Meetings: Organizations that would like to hold a meeting in conjunction with the conference should email archy@u.washington.edu well in advance to arrange for space and scheduling.
Books and Exhibits
The Exhibitors Room will be available for book displays, anthropological equipment for sale, demonstrations, etc. at a cost of $40/vendor. Requests should be directed to archy@u.washington.edu.
