The construction of the New Burke Museum continues to move at an impressive pace! Skanska construction crews have already worked 150,000 hours building the New Burke and there’s certainly a lot to show for their hard work.
The New Burke exterior is nearing completion as the last of the windows and siding panels get installed. The building is nearly fully enclosed!
The exterior construction elevator has been removed and an interior elevator is now functioning. The interior walls are going up more and more each day—giving shape to the galleries and visible collections and lab spaces that will soon be bustling with staff, volunteers and visitors when the New Burke opens in 2019.
Stay tuned for more New Burke updates as crews continue working on the interior of the building!
