Take a tour inside the fish collection

March 25, 2016 | Burke Museum

The Burke Museum’s Ichthyology Collection consists of more than 11 million preserved fish specimens from around the world, including adults, juveniles, larvae, eggs, skeletons, tissues, otoliths and scales. In fact, it is the largest fish collection in North America!

Occasionally, we hear from reporters, students and organizations that are interested in doing a video about what it’s like to go behind the scenes in the fish collection. From preservation processes to cutting-edge research—the collection is a fascinating place to visit!

We’ve compiled some of the behind-the-scenes videos into a playlist.
