I’m vaccinated, why do I have to wear a mask?
Thank you for doing your part in protecting our community by getting vaccinated! We appreciate you hanging in there for just a little bit longer with us by wearing a mask throughout your visit at the Burke. We’re requiring everyone to continue wearing masks in all galleries and public spaces regardless of vaccination status in order to keep immunocompromised and unvaccinated people—including our youngest visitors—safe.
Why are Burke staff and volunteers not wearing masks when they’re working in the visible labs and workrooms?
You may see staff and volunteers with masks off in some labs and workrooms. This is because they are allowed to remove masks when they’re alone in non-public spaces ONLY if they are vaccinated.
Can I now walk up and purchase my tickets at the door?
Starting July 1, we will once again offer a limited number of walk-up tickets on a first come, first-served basis.
We recommend that you pre-purchase your tickets online to ensure that you can visit at your ideal time and as save time by skipping the line.
When is the best time to visit if I’d like to avoid crowds?
Afternoon time slots, especially on the weekdays, are typically less busy than others.
