The Seattle "See Through the Burke" Challenge
Get ready for the new Burke Museum by completing our Seattle "See Through the Burke" challenge. It's your guide to Seattle through the lens of your Washington State Museum of Natural History and Culture.
Download a map, visit each location, and collect clues to solve the natural history mystery along the way. You just may see the "everyday" in a totally different way.
About the new building
Designed by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig, the New Burke combines dramatic views of objects with Northwest features like sustainable wood siding, a native plant garden, and a shed-style roof inspired by traditional Coast Salish dwellings.
Donors & Project Partners
Gifts from the community are the heart of the New Burke project—more than one third of the new museum is funded by individuals like you. We are so thankful for our family of supporters helping to open the doors of the new Washington State Museum of Natural History and Culture.
