CITES: Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of
Wild Fauna and Flora.
CITES I: CITES Appendix I--species that are threatened
with extinction.
CITES II: CITES Appendix II--species that are not necessarily now
threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely
controlled.
CITES III: CITES Appendix III--species that are included at the request
of a party that already regulates trade in the species and that needs the
cooperation of other countries to prevent unsustainable or illegal exploitation.

IUCN: The World Conservation Union.
IUCN Endangered: IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals,
Endangered--a taxon that is not Critically Endangered but is facing a very
high risk of extinction in the wild in the near future.
IUCN Vulnerable: IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals,
Vulnerable--a taxon that is not Critically Endangered or Endangered but
is facing a high risk of extinction in the wild in the medium-term future.
