Every weekend at the Burke, see and even touch objects not normally on display, and do hands-on activities with crafts to take home. Also take part in guided exhibit tours of the Life and Times and Pacific Voices galleries every Saturday at 1 pm.
In November, mammals go on the defensive. Learn about how various species avoid becoming prey, and examine their defense mechanisms using collections not normally on view. Plus, animate your own peek-a-boo pangolin to take home or write a short poem about one of Washington's 141 species of mammals.
Upcoming Weekend Activities:
December: Fish & Shells
January: Archaeology (Artifacts)
March: Fossils (Dinos!)
*Weekend Activities will not be held on Saturday, November 16, due to Meet the Mammals.
Select Weekend Activities may be replaced by other large-scale programs and events (Dino Day, Meet the Mammals, Native Arts Day) on select days throughout the year. Please see the Burke’s event website for availability.
