Seattle The Burke Museum has launched a new podcast program to provide listeners with behind-the-scenes access from the comfort of their own homes.
The Burke Museum Podcasts series starts with two episodes for antiques aficionados featuring our January 2007 artifact events. With Unburied Treasures: Artifact ID Day, listeners can hear interviews with Burke staff and listen in as experts identify incredible objects brought in by visitors at the Burkes annual Artifact ID Day held on Jan. 21, 2007. Hear guest expert Wes Cowan, star of PBS TV programs History Detectives and Antiques Roadshow, evaluate a Civil War era ceramic for Burke visitors. Then tune in to the following podcast, Real Life Adventures of a History Detective to hear Cowan relate his thoughts on the importance of preserving our cultural heritage from his Jan. 20 talk at the University of Washington. Upcoming podcasts will feature discussions with Burke curators, exhibiting artists, behind-the-scenes exclusives with Burke staff, and more.
