A 2003 Learning Opportunities Grant of the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), provided support for development of this website particularly the building of public access to the collections databases, was provided by a an independent federal agency that supports the nation's museums and libraries. Numerous people contributed their time and expertise to this project, and we thank them all, especially the staff of the Burke Museum. The ongoing Ethnology Digital Imaging Project has been funded since 2001 by grants from the Quest for Truth Foundation and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pancerzewski; digitization support was also provided by Glenn Light. The website structure and design were substantially updated once again in 2011.
