Saturdays and Sundays in December*, 11 am 3 pm

Every weekend at the Burke, see objects not normally on display, and do hands-on activities with crafts to take home. Also take part in guided exhibit tours of the Life and Times and Pacific Voices galleries every Saturday at 1 pm.

In December, have aquatic encounters in the comfort of the museum. Every weekend,* we'll have stunning shells and fabulous fish on special display. Activities include:

  • A drawer full of some of the 100,000 shells recently donated to the Burke by Dr. Phillip and Sandra Nudelman.
  • How salmon change over their lifetime (plus a trick for remembering the names of all 5 Pacific species).
  • A chance to deck out a set of paper salmon.

*Weekend Activities will not be held on Saturday, Dec. 7 because of Geology Merit Badge Day.

Upcoming Weekend Activities:

January: Archaeology (Artifacts)
February: Reptiles
March: Fossils (Dinos!)
April: Textiles
May: Plants
June: Geology
