Join us for a weekend celebration of all things mammoth! Say farewell to LuLu’s tusk before it goes behind the scenes for conservation, see the bones of a nearly-complete mammoth skeleton and more:

  • Watch as Burke staff take an inventory of bones from a nearly-complete mammoth skeleton found near Richland, WA in 1978, and prepare them for display in the future.
  • See dozens of mammoth specimens, including the first mammoth tooth found in Seattle, near Golden Gardens in 1891.
  • Sign LuLu’s cast! Visitors will be invited to sign the plaster field jacket covering LuLu’s tusk before it goes behind the scenes for conservation.
  • Make mammoth crafts to take home.

Mammoth Mania activities are included with museum admission and FREE for Burke Members. Not a member? Join today?

Thisty for more? We're hosting a Tusk After Dusk happy hour Friday, October 10 from 5:30–7:30 pm, featuring mammoth beverages, the first chance to sign LuLu’s cast, arts and crafts for grown-ups, music, prizes, and more.
