Burke Museum
Sun., Sept. 16, 2012 | 10 am – 4 pm
Included with museum admission; FREE for Burke members
Bug out as thousands of specimens, dead and alive, fly, buzz, or crawl to the Burke Museum for this favorite annual family event. Get eye-to-eye with giant walking sticks, examine bugs of all kinds from the Burke’s collections, try some buggy snacks, and more!
This year, Bug Blast plays host to The Bug Chicks! These two scientists take time off from their research to inspire all of us to find our inner “bugdork.” Their presentation showcases the diversity of arthropods, and invites us to touch, hold, and pet the amazing creatures in their Bug Zoo. They’re interactive, fun, and children from Beaverton to Bellingham have proclaimed them “better than a videogame.”
