Spring 2008 Program Wrap-Up
Students in the MOLL program this spring learned about the major project underway at Magnuson Park. This $13 million project involves 43 acres in the park, and will result in new wetlands and athletic fields.
Fall 2007 Program Wrap-Up
In October, more than 120 middle school students from three Seattle Public Schools participated in field programs at Magnuson Park. Whether in pouring rain, balmy sunshine, or chilling wind, the MOLL students and instructors stayed focused, contributed valuable work to the park, and had a blast.
MOLL Presented with Community Catalyst Award
The Environmental Education Association of Washington (EEAW) has recognized the Magnuson Outdoor Learning Laboratory (MOLL) as an exemplary education program. The program received the 2006-2007 Community Catalyst Award for providing innovative, community-based environmental education.
April 2007 Update
Sometimes you just have to take the program to them. That’s the case with Madrona’s 8th grade science classes. Rather than making trips to Magnuson Park or the Burke Museum for their program, Madrona is making use of the program’s resources at the school.
February 2007 Update
Peeling off work gloves, a group of sixth-graders and adults gathers in the afternoon sun at Magnuson Park. The leader asks, "What did you like best about the day?"
